The Mahomet Seymour Schools would like to thank all those who voted in the recent election for the time spent researching the information about the building referendum, asking questions and learning the facts.
Many of you also participated in the Bulldog Blueprint Community Engagement initiative and were part of the planning process leading up to the election–we thank you for that as well. We respect our voters, our community and the clear message sent by the results of Tuesday’s election.
Space will continue to be a significant and pressing issue for our school district. Moving forward, our Board of Education will take some time to regroup and work with our new Superintendent, Dr. Kenny Lee, to determine how to move forward to solve these space needs.

When thinking about facility improvements, it is important to focus on kids, their teachers, and the classroom environments. The Bulldog Blueprint community engagement put together a plan to keep kids out of overcrowded classrooms, avoid use of trailers, and provide up-to-date and safe learning environments. Any long term plan to keep our schools from being overcrowded and in good operating condition should be data-driven and focus on best practices in education. That was the charge to the Bulldog Blueprint community engagement program.
