The Mahomet-Seymour Education Foundation is pleased to announce the awarding of over $19,000 in grants to teachers in the Mahomet-Seymour School District. Amy Walmer, chairperson of the Grant Selection Committee said, This year the Mahomet Seymour Education Foundation awarded 16 grants from an applicant pool of 21, totaling just under $20,000. Once again we saw a large focus on STEM components to create new STEM box centers, as well as additional items to enhance existing STEM units within the classroom. We funded new music stands for the band room at Lincoln Trail and benches for the AG program at the high school that can be used for their many educational events. The MSEF also funded grant requests for literacy libraries to help with guided reading and books for classroom libraries at specific grade levels.
Grants that were awarded to the teachers fund curriculum related areas and often support and inspire innovative practices in Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 classrooms. “The grants this year span a wide range of instructional materials and technology related items. The grants from the MSEF provide an opportunity to enhance learning opportunities for all of our students,” said Superintendent Lindsey Hall. “Thank you to our many teachers who wrote a grant this year, and to the MSEF for their work in reviewing and awarding grants. The generosity and hard work of the foundation and its volunteers is deeply appreciated!”

MSEF is a non-profit that provides financial support for educational opportunities for students and faculty beyond the school district's mean. At Bulldog Bash, we have live and silent auctions to raise money to fund grants that enrich Mahomet-Seymour classrooms, scholarships for high school seniors, and special projects as requested by Mahomet-Seymour administration. Recent examples of special projects include school playground equipment for Middletown Prairie's addition and helping with the M-S Chromebook 1:1 initiative for 6-12th grades. A ticket to Bulldog Bash includes a buffet dinner, free drinks and live music by Hey Jimmy Band.
